AUGUST
* Historic Fort Steuben is open Monday-Saturday, 10-4; Sunday,
12-4;
* The Memorial Fountain has been repaired and is again sparkling on
the corner of 3rd and Market Streets;
* Historic Fort Steuben has been featured as part of WTOV9's

JULY
* The second session of the Summer Youth Educational Program
runs from July 12-16.
* Tour guides are available at the Fort on Thursdays and Fridays;
self-guided tours on the other days.
* Summer concerts continue, beginning at 7 pm in July

JUNE
* Great concerts have begun!
* Red Hat ladies toured the Fort and had a great time. Our
interpreters do an outstanding job of making history come alive.
* The Summer Youth Educational Program begins on Monday.
* Fort Director Judy Bratten spoke to the Steubenville Kiwanis Club
on the upcoming events at Historic Fort Steuben.

MAY
* Fort Steuben is open for tours!
* The new book,
The Story of Historic Fort Steuben, has been
released and is now on sale in the Museum Shop for $19.99.
* The dedication of the new Guardhouse will be at 11 am on May
12th.
* Historic Fort Steuben is partnering with Fort Steuben Mall and Steel
Valley Regional Transit to provide bus shuttle service to the Thursday
evening concerts. Parking will be available behind J.C.Penney's and
the buses will run regularly from 5pm.
*  The Veterans' Memorial Fountain will be turned on for the opening
of the new City Municipal Building on May 17th.
*  The first of the 2010 Summer Concerts will be Oldies Night on May
27th at 6:30 pm. There will also be a Classic Car Cruise In
downtown from 5-9 pm. Things are happening!

APRIL
* The Spring Quilt Show is a showcase for the talented crafters in
the area. Wonderful examples of hand and machine stitching are on
display.
*  Construction on the Guardhouse is continuing...almost complete.

* Fort Steuben will have a table at the Spotlight on Appalachian
Ohio: Arts, Music, and Travel Show at the Fort Steuben Mal

April 9-10. Be sure to get tickets for the wonderful items in the silent
auction, including travel packages and discounts for attractions
around the state.
* Historic Fort Steuben is on Facebook. Become a fan! Watch for the

* Interested in being a volunteer or guide at Historic Fort Steuben.
We will have an Interpreters' Meeting on
Tuesday, April 27 at 6:30
pm.
* The Pittsburgh-Columbus Corridor planning committee will be
meeting at Historic Fort Steuben on Friday, April 16th.

MARCH
* Stop by Belmont Technical College on March 11th from 6:30-9:00
pm for their annual event "Cultural Pearls." Baron von Steuben will be
there at the Fort Steuben exhibit.
* The Steubenville Art Association will have a workshop and
presentation with artist Barry Jeter on March 17th at 7pm in the
Conference Room of the Fort Steuben Visitor Center.
* Plans are underway for the 20th festival! We are looking for
crafters and artisans to expand our displays.
* The reprinted book

Schilling is available for $20 in the Museum Shop.

* Construction continues at Historic Fort Steuben on the new Guard

* Development of the Black History Month exhibit, "All That Jazz...and
Poetry...and Art...: African American Contributions in the Arts and
Letters," is progressing. We hope to feature information about local
artists, writers, and musicians to add to the exhibit!
